Schwarzenegger vetoes universal healthcare

California just passed a major bill to cut greenhouse gas emissions; lawmakers in California also approved universal healthcare bill, but Governor Schwarzenegger just vetoed it this week. I haven't looked into the bill closely, so I don't know exactly how it works; it's possible that this particular program is a costly one. It's also possible that it has many problems. But I have to ask "How much worse can it get as far as regular California residents are concerned?"

It's pretty remarkable that the state is struggling harder to solve its healthcare problems than to solve its environmental problems.
