US mobile phone company Motorola has backtracked on a promise to remove toxic chemicals from its products. While competitors like Sony Ericsson and Nokia are living up to their commitments to remove toxic chemicals, Motorola is not answering the call to clean up.

So Hello? Motorola? If your competitors can make their products greener, why can't you?

Nice argument!

Well, honestly ... why should they?

An incredibly high percentage of managers in leading positions see green politics just as necessary PR tool in the 21st century. Obviously - cause their main target is to improve profit. And it always will.

And what do you expect from mncs?

As long as people buy that stuff - and as long as you don't want to pay more than nothing for your cell phone ... well, "they" could impose a new law or regulation or anything - to at least erase the symptoms. But I think people have to move them further towards the core.
