This Christmas, one of the most inspiring individuals in the world will spend her time enclosed in her home with no company. But outside of those walls she is regarded as 'the Lady', the one shred of hope in a land that possesses no reason to believe. That woman is Aung San Suu Kyi.

A nobel peace prize winner, Kyi has been detained on and off for the past 17 years simply for her belief in non-violence and democracy for Burma and it's people. Thr junta of Burma has dedicated itself to silencing her existence while continuing it's path of rape, genocide, starvation and destruction against it's own people. But the people do not forget both the atrocities and the Lady who stands against them.

This Christmas, R.I.S.E! (Rallying Independent Students for Expression) decided to show that even on the other side of the world that Kyi is still in our minds during a period of hope and love.
We plan on sending Christmas cards to Burma in the next few weeks to show that our season's greetings spread to Kyi.

If you are currently at a University or college or simply want to help out, please help us in getting the message across that 'We Don't Forget'. If you are interested in joining in with the campaign then either contact me on here OR add generation_of_neglect@hotmail.com on msn. Or, alternatively, you can simply send the card yourself to the details below.

This is a simple way of letting the Burmese dictatorship realise that the world still stands in solitude with Kyi, even if she is isolated from the outside world.

You can either send the card to the Burmese embassy in London, or to the Senior General who controls Burma. You could even send a card to both. Here's the addresses:

Senior General Than Shwe - Chairman
State Peace and
Development Council,
Ministry of Defence,
Signal Pagoda Road,
Dagon Post Office,
Yangon,
Union of Myanmar

OR

Embassy of the Union of Myanmar,
19 A, CHARLES STREET,
LONDON W1J 5DX
UNITED KINGDOM
