Societal discord and polarization, and the progressively worsening divisions economically, socially, politically and racially in America today raise the spectra of needs to intervene before these positions becomes fixed and irreversible. Justice and equality will be among the first liberties to be discarded. This has been the case for the “enemy combatants” some of whom are innocent, incarcerated possibly for life at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba without any rights to due process. Justice and equality in the United States under democracy as prescribed in its Constitution must be more than sound bites. Meaningful commitments to definitive and supportive actions must be the rule....
