The competition is open to all – fishermen, professional gear manufacturers, teachers, students, engineers, scientists and backyard inventors.
A $30.000 grand prize and two $10.000 runner-up prizes are waiting for you. The entry deadline is July 31, 2007.

Light bulbs are not cool anymore!
| |
| 02/20/07
Australian's environment minister, Malcolm Turnbull, announced today that incandescent light bulbs have become “outdated”. The minister reckons it should save 800,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions during the three year phase-out period, with an annual emission reduction of 4 million tonnes by 2015. "If the rest of the world supports us ... follows our lead, this will reduce an amount of energy ... to the tune of five times as much energy as Australia consumes," he said.

Cinema for Peace
| |
| 02/19/07
The Berlin International Film Festival is over and I must confess I am a little bit unimpressed. One of the more impressive stuff was the Cinema for Peace charity-gala or like Bob Geldof used to say “…the Oscars with brain”. Sharon Stone and Richard Gere were busy with hosting a celebrity auction and stars like Clint Eastwood, Forest Whitaker or Bille August were honored with an award for their outstanding work. Nexus: Adventure Ecology
| |
| 01/23/07
Many people associate the name Rothshild with: super-rich, family, world domination, conspiracy and many more antics. But David de Rothschild may surprise you. He is a 27-year-old British adventurer and environmentalist who is head of Adventure Ecology, an expedition group raising awareness about climate change. We highly recommend you to watch his web site. Although their target age range is nine to 12, AdventureEcology.com offers some neat surprises: a cool design, animations, games and much more.
Mission: Relax! Adventure is not just about packing your expedition gear and living in a tent, and Ecology is not just about digging out your tie-dye flares and chaining yourself to a tree. The only prerequisite for becoming an adventure ecologist is passion
