Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, died yesterday while filming an underwater documentary after he was stung by a stingray through the chest. This was only the third known fatality in Australian history from a stingray attack, and the first since 1945.

DCI Founder and Chairman, John Hendricks said, "Steve was a larger than life force. He brought joy and learning about the natural world to millions and millions of people across the globe. He was a true friend to all of us at Discovery Communications. We extend our thoughts and prayers to Terri, Bindi and Bob Irwin as well as to the incredible staff and many friends Steve leaves behind."

It doesn’t look good for Apple, my favorite computer corporation. Their commercial success is undeniable but they don’t break any records for the environment…

Lenovo is in bottom position. It earns points for chemicals management and providing some voluntary product take back programs, but it needs to do better on all criteria.

"It is disappointing to see Apple ranking so low in the overall guide. They are meant to be world leaders in design and marketing, they should also be world leaders in environmental innovation." said Kruszewska.

Life Rolls On gives some money:

In the wake of three successful fundraising events, LRO has given $50,000 to the Christopher Reeve Foundation (CRF). This money will be directed towards continued spinal cord injury research efforts at some of the leading research institutions in the world. CRF's Director of Development, Peter Wilderotter, says "this amazing gift will allow us to continue to fund the necessary research to find a cure for paralysis. Life Rolls On has been a great partner of ours for many years, and we are proud to be associated with the organization."

Everybody loves it when good-looking rich celebrities do good-looking celebrity charity or try to save the world. It makes the world good-looking. So here we go:

Actress Jessica Biel dined in style on Friday when the man who bid $30,000 for her company took her out for a meal. The man, named simply John, was the top bidder at a Denver, Colorado charity auction, at which lunch with the sexy Stealth star was a top item.

The acclaimed actor, director and activist has purchased not just one, but two electric vehicles. However, these vehicles aren't the stereotypical electric cars with wimpy power and body stylings better suited for a George Foreman grill. These are high performance rides.
